AND SIX STRING RODEO
Formed in 2005 by frontman and lead guitarist Chris Breaux, Six String Rodeo began as an instrumental country jam band. With more than 100 years of musicianship between the members, they soon began writing originals and performing regularly. “Where their tenure is impressive, so are their influences and their ability to merge them…Six String Rodeo has the guts to satisfy traditional fans and the flair to make Triple A fans out of listeners whose radios stay tuned to corporate-programmed country.” writes The Times’ Nick Pittman.
With the June 2006 release of their first EP, Horseshoes and Tattoos, Breaux says the band’s mission remains simple: “to be one of the best bands around and to make people dance”.
Emerging from south Louisiana, where Cajun and Zydeco music are so prevalent in the culture, this purely country sound may be unexpected. But when your feet dance you on to the floor during a boot-stomping original like “Little Too Late”, nothing seems out of place. When Six String Rodeo entertains, everyone finds themselves a country fan.
